Vision

Faculty of Traditional Medicine of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences intends to take advantage of its comprehensive programs and develop and expand its educational and research activities as one of the national and international centers in the field of traditional medicine, traditional pharmacy and history of medical sciences in order to help solve some of the problems in the field of health in the country.

Mission

Faculty of Traditional Medicine of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, with all its facilities, including human, material and spiritual resources, has devoted itself to the education and training of specialized and efficient human resources and by expanding research in traditional medicine, traditional pharmacy, natural products, history and valuable medical texts attempts to promote and disseminate the science of this school to all the world. Our most obvious mission is to provide prevention (health-nutrition) and treatment methods based on the principles of traditional medicine (six essential principles and maintenance of health) and to introduce clinical interventions of traditional medicine and known herbal medicines with features such as effectiveness, safety, less side effects, evidence-based and reasonable cost through research and study of valuable ancient medical resources and medical manuscripts in our country.

The missions that we are committed to do in this regard are as follows:

• Utilizing the most prominent, skilled and experienced professors and the most scientific educational methods in order to train specialists in relevant fields appropriate to the Iranian-Islamic culture
• Conducting extensive research using manuscripts and sources of traditional medicine, traditional pharmacy and natural medicine involved in promoting human health
• Creating a suitable and promoting environment for research, exploration, and scientific and wise exchanges for faculty members, researchers, experts and university staff
• Moving towards programs that lead to the revival and improvement and proper integration of traditional medicine in the health system
• Trying to create a reassuring environment among officials, colleagues of other departments of the university and members of society by providing the best research results in accordance with scientific and ethical principles
